We’ve all seen too many guitar players lean their guitar up against an amp, leaving it unprotected and vulnerable.  We’ve also seen guitar players rely on a tripod type guitar stand that requires an extra trip to and from their transportation, takes up precious space on stage, and is inherently unstable. If you haven’t experienced a broken guitar neck, check our video.  Most guitars are “totaled” when a head stock is broken off.  The cost of repair exceeds the value of the guitar.  We decided these are issues we could address.

Since many amplifiers, especially Fender Tweeds, many Marshalls, and Vox, have top mounted controls, we designed a model with a shorter “T,” so access to those controls is maintained while still providing stability and security.   Model GP1410 is for amplifiers with front or rear mounted controls.  Model GP 1310 is for top mounted controls.  The GP 1410 has a “biscuit,” which is the stop that drops into one of the two slots, which nests into the “T” and is secured by magnets.  

We entertained the idea of injection molded plastic. In fact, in large volumes, it is a cheaper solution. But it uses up the earth’s resources, and well, it looks like plastic.  Cheap is not always best.  So we went to the bamboo cutting board industry, already manufacturing to a very high food service standard, for a piece we think is elegant as well as sustainable.  You see, bamboo is a grass.  Some varieties grow so fast, you can actually watch it grow. 

At some point, if we do an injection molded plastic model, we will offer black.  Currently, black would be prohibitively expensive since we would have to take a bamboo piece, sand it, and paint it.  That would have to be done in such a way that any chips or scratches in the black paint wouldn’t show the pale bamboo.  Injection molding requires a large cash outlay up front before a single piece is produced.  Maybe Phase 3.
